Mesquite is an open-source, low-cost, wearable motion-capture platform that uses 15 ESP32-C3–powered IMU sensor pods running FreeRTOS to stream orientation data wirelessly. A Raspberry Pi Zero W hub aggregates and synchronizes these quaternions with a smartphone’s WebXR SLAM world frame and renders a real-time 3D skeleton in any WebSerial-compatible browser using Three.js.

The Scenario-Based Simulation Testing and Driving Assessment Metrics Validation framework uses the CARLA simulator to implement all 37 of NHTSA’s pre-crash test cases, which account for approximately 97% of light-duty vehicle crashes. Scenarios are defined via CARLA’s Python API, instantiating traffic actors, environmental conditions, and sensor models to emulate real-world situations with high fidelity
