Hello, my name is Catherine La! I was born and raised in Michigan, but I moved to Kentucky several years ago and have been calling this state my home ever since. 

Since my employment as a Starbucks barista in October of 2022, I have become very interested in the SCAP program partnership with Arizona State University. Having taken a break from school for several years, I felt ready to jump back into it again. Thanks to this extraordinary opportunity, I will be working on my bachelor's degree in psychology! My life goal is to either become a counselor or a teacher. I want to make a difference by helping people, and if I can achieve that by improving their state of well-being, I will feel like I have played my part in the world.

In my downtime, I enjoy everything to do with art: drawing, crocheting, embroidering, and more! Video games are another favorite hobby of mine, and I always love socializing with friends and family. All in all, I cannot wait to take this significant step forward in life and make changes for the better!
