Welcome to the Writers' Studio!
Hello! I am Barbara Temple. I am 26 years old. I lived in Celebration, Florida (practically next door to Walt Disney World) for three years, and still live nearby, on the outskirts of Clermont. I am a freshman majoring in BS Physics. After college, I hope to become a theoretical physicist. I've been determined to become one ever since I got into Doctor Who, ten years ago. Also, I have a cousin who is a physicist, and I greatly admire him.
I am currently working as a Writing Mentor for ASU's Writer's Studio.
I am a colossal musical theatre nerd. I built a Spotify playlist for showtunes that is over 37 hours long, and still growing! I love few things quite so much as singing. I also love to read, draw, swim, and search for shells (I used to live on the beach).
I live with my mother and my brother, Charles. My father sadly passed away in 2020. We have an adorable smooth collie, Nova (yes, I named her after the first documentary on physics I ever watched). She is a very sweet girl, who never barks at anyone. She does have a very big appetite, though!
A while back, one of my Doctor Who fanarts was published in Doctor Who: 100 Illustrated Adventures!
I grew up on classic British children's books, like the Chronicles of Narnia and The Wind in the Willows, and as a consequence, I often talk like I grew up in Britain in the 1940s! My English father used to swear to people that he didn't teach me to talk that way! I speak intermediate-level Spanish, and beginner's Welsh (my mother's father was Welsh) and Japanese. Additional trivia: I am left-handed!
