Each of us has the capacity to make small changes to help protect the environment:
Turn off the lights and other electronics when you leave the room.
Do not let the faucet run when brushing your teeth or doing dishes.
Consider alternative forms of transit: walk, ride a bike or scooter, take public transit, and carpool!
Bring your own bags when shopping to reduce demand for plastic bags!
Consider buying a hybrid or electric vehicle. Check out the tax advantages available through the Inflation Reduction Act.
Consider installing green technologies in your home such as solar panels, high efficiency appliances, an induction stove, tankless water heater, and a heat pump heating and cooling system. Check out the tax advantages available throught the Inflation Reduction Act.
Consider giving up disposable cups and only using reusable cups.
Consider buying coffee from businesses that ethically source their coffee.
Consider buying coffee straight from the farmers instead of a larger company.
Check your own carbon footprint.
Plant native plants in your garden.
Shop from second-hand stores.
Use a resource, like Ethical Consumer, that tells you if a company is ethical or not.
Know what brands are fast fashion and avoid buying from them.
Buy clothing from ethical businesses.
Volunteer with the Arizona Sustainability Environment.
Attend of Arizona Department of Environmental Quality public meeting, hearing, or workshop.

If you live somewhere that does not recycle use an ecostation in Phoenix.
If you are an ASU student consider joining one of ASU's sustainabilty based clubs.
If you are an on-campus stdent use ASU's composting services.
Take a sustainability class at ASU.
Know who in the government is in charge of sustaibability: Office of the Federal Chief Sustainability Officer.
Educate yourself on the Federal Sustainability Plan.
Know who in the government represents where you live and write to them about issues that concern you.
Attend sustainability conferences.
Read the United Nation's climate action plan.
