Thanks for stopping by! I'm Aliya and I'm currently in the home stretch of my final course hours required to finish my Family & Human Development B.S. - I have been in pursuit of my undergraduate degree for almost ten years now. While I love school, even I am shocked by how long my higher education journey has been. I'm on track to graduate this spring and apply for a Master's of Social Work program for the fall.
I have always had a strong passion for helping others and feel that my life's calling is to be in the service of mental health. While serving in the United States Air Force on active duty, I spend most of my free time volunteering with victims of interpersonal violence and at-risk youth. Once I complete my Bachelor's degree, I will be pursuing a Master's of Social Work in a degree program that focuses on trauma and family systems. My ultimate hope and goal is to commission as a LCSW in the Air Force and retire from the service as my life's calling.
In addition to these things, I keep a small flower and pepper garden, have two amazing dogs, and an incredibly supportive husband! We both love fitness, though I am the only runner in the family. We are also currently building our second home together after moving across the country from North Carolina to California this past fall. Come spring time we will have our yard back!
I have loved every moment of my career in the USAF.
I have accomplished every major milestone/goal I've set since joining and am insanely proud of my time in the service.
I am wicked adaptable!
I could be thrown into just about any situation and I'll find my way through. I've managed to find a lot of comfort in change and flexibility.
My passion in life is helping people.
As I near the end of my undergraduate degree, I have focused my energy and time on pursuing an MSW to become a LCSW and work in victim & family advocacy.
