ASTU-EDC is a center that provides business incubation and technology transfer services for youth students, innovative individuals, and SMEs in the multidisciplinary areas of science and technology on behalf of Adama Science and Technology University (ASTU).
The Center aims to help create and grow young technology and innovation-based businesses that can contribute to the development of Ethiopian industries and society. The Center also strives to create an entrepreneurship culture in the university and the community by providing them with the knowledge, support, technical services, and connections they need.
The Center helps students to develop their innovation, creative thinking, and skills and to find funding or incubation for their socially relevant projects. Since its establishment, ASTU-EDC has provided services to more than 3,000 individuals who benefited from its training and incubation programs. Four teams incubated at ASTU EDC won the National Business Competitions. Halib Toothpaste, Green Ethiopia, BamGo, and SOZO Tea are the four teams.

The mission of ASTU-EDC is to create and develop technology and innovation-based businesses needed for developing industries and society by providing knowledge, support, and technical services. The Center is meant to create an entrepreneurship culture and develop an entrepreneurship eco-system in the community to support the socio–economic development of the nation.
Commence annual based business plan competitions;
Train and develop start-ups;
Provide technology-based business incubation-related services to the community;
Build a network; commercialize research ideas and innovations that are developed in the R&D facilities of the Universities
Support local governments, MSEs, and other actors in incubation-related activities.
Improve new firms' livelihood and survival rate by providing technical and business-related support.
Strengthen the knowledge component of the local economy by engaging more closely the university system with the world of production.
Create entrepreneurial awareness, culture, and environment throughout the region and the country.
Support the emergence of high-potential start-ups and new firms that can achieve significant progress in employment, sales, and exports.
Produce successful firms that will leave the incubation program financially viable and freestanding.
Build the entrepreneurship-oriented capacity of local institutes and individuals through direct and indirect supporting mechanisms.
