Astoria School District Grad Walk – Thursday, June 6, Astoria High School, 8am
In order to celebrate the Class of 2024 district wide, graduates will walk through the halls of all Astoria School District schools dressed in their caps and gowns. This is an optional event, beginning at Astoria High School at 8am and culminating at the Flavel House in downtown Astoria. At approximately 11:15am, graduates will walk together from the Flavel House along Commercial Street to the Liberty Theater for Awards Night Rehearsal, which will begin at 11:45am.
Awards Night Rehearsal – Thursday, June 6, Liberty Theater, 11:45am
Seniors choosing to participate in Awards Night are required to attend the Awards Night Rehearsal. Seniors will meet outside the Liberty Theater at 11:45am. Caps and gowns are not required for rehearsal. Rehearsal will last approximately one hour.
Awards Night -Thursday, June 6, Liberty Theater, 7pm
All seniors receiving awards and scholarships will be honored on this night. This is an optional event for seniors, but those who are receiving scholarships are strongly encouraged to attend this event to thank the generous donors. Those graduates who are not receiving a scholarship or award are still welcome to attend and participate with their class. Seniors should wear their caps and ironed gowns and meet in the McTavish room (upstairs) by 6:30pm. A reception for the graduating seniors and their families will follow in the McTavish Room.
Graduation Rehearsal and Awards Assembly – Friday, June 7, AHS Auditorium, 8am
Seniors are to report to the AHS Auditorium by 8am. Following the Awards Assembly, graduation rehearsal will directly follow at CMH Field. Transportation will be provided from AHS to CMH Field and back to AHS following graduation rehearsal. All seniors planning to walk at graduation MUST be in attendance at the graduation rehearsal. Graduation rehearsal is anticipated to end by noon.
Graduation – Saturday, June 8, CMH Field, 4pm
All graduating seniors should report to the CMH Field by 3:15pm with caps and IRONED gowns. A shuttle bus will be provided from AHS to CMH Field for graduates. Parking is limited at CMH Field and graduates are strongly encouraged to ride with family to CMH Field, carpool, or ride the shuttle bus.
Each graduate will receive four tickets for reserved seating on the field. Admittance to the graduation ceremony does not require a ticket - there will be open seating in the stadium on a first-come first-served basis.
Parking at CMH Field will be limited, especially with a large graduating class this year. Gates will open at 2:30pm - families are encouraged to carpool as parking will be limited. If a family member of a graduate requires special seating or parking (space for a wheelchair, seating near an exit, etc.), please contact Mrs. Walsh in the main office to make this arrangement (503-325-3911).
