Welcome to this week's Round-Up!
Well, we've ended off the week with a lovely sunny day and the promise of a warm and sunny half term break! We hope you and your children are able to spend time together enjoying the lovely weather.
This week saw our children enjoying school trips, participating in the second heat of the bowling competition and dissecting eyes! These are all memorable experiences for our pupils and important links to their learning. We have lots more lined up for the summer term which we know the children will thoroughly enjoy!
Attendance
Consistency is the heartbeat of our thriving school community, and regular attendance is the single most important factor in ensuring your child feels confident, connected, and ready to learn.
Every day in the classroom is a chance to spark a new interest and build lasting friendships—thank you for your continued support in making every school day count!
This week's attendance:
School overall: 92.6%
FS1: 92.3% Year 3: 93.8%
FS2: 90.9% Year 4: 87.1%
Year 1: 94% Year 5: 92.0%
Year 2: 94.9% Year 6: 89.9%
Well done to all our 'green' classes whose overall attendance has improved from last week. Congratulations to Year 2, who will get to roll the monopoly dice this week!
Congratulations to all those children who managed to attend every day last week - 71% of you achieved 100% attendance.
With hayfever season and a few viruses circling, please remember that these are not reasons to keep children at home. Children can be sent into school with a cough, cold, sore throat, etc and we'll keep a close eye on them.
When submitting a 'leave of absence request' please could you let Mrs Bulloss know so that we can make sure we get back to you straight away with the outcome.

A big 'well done' do all our award winners this week! We are very proud of you all!
It was also lovely to share in achievements from home as well as our pupils working really hard to ensure they take pride in their presentation and handwriting with the award of their 'pen licence'.
1st-7th June
Following the success of our pupils and parents First Aid sessions last week, we will be following up by taking part in Child Safety Week this year. In conjunction with this, we will be sharing helpful safety advice each week, which we hope you find useful!
The Department for Education (DfE) and the Food Standards Agency (FSA) strongly advise that children under 5 should not be given popcorn or marshmallows, as these pose a significant choking risk.
Please do not include the following items in your child’s lunchbox:
Popcorn
Marshmallows
Whole nuts
Whole seeds
Raw jelly cubes
Hard sweets
These foods can easily become stuck and block a young child’s airway.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation in helping us keep all children safe.
Some of our children, from time-to-time require 'fidget tools' in class. Fidget tools—like squishy balls, spinners, or textured strips—can be fantastic for helping children focus.
A fidget is working if it helps your child’s eyes, ears, and mind stay anchored on the task at hand. If your child is staring at the fidget, showing it to friends, or making noise with it, it has crossed the line into a toy.
Unfortunately, we have a number of 'toys' that are regulalry being brought in from home. Not only are these a distraction for your child, but are often the cause of minor disputes and behaviour issues. I would therefore like to request that no fidgets are brought from home please. This includes 'squishies'. If children bring in items from home, they will be asked to keep them in their bag or, if necessary, they will be kept by the class teacher until the end of the day, when they will be returned to parents.
Miss Burton will look at the SEND plans for all pupils and will allocate 'fidgets' to those children who require them. Only 'school approved/allocated' fidgets should be used by pupils. Thank you for your support with this.
