Welcome to this week's Round-Up!
We ended off last week wishing our Y6's well as they were about to take their SATs test. I must start this week's Round-Up by saying a huge 'well done' to them all! We were so impressed with how they took them in their stride and showed so much focus and resilience. They absolutely tried their hardest and we can't ask for much for more than that.
We also have to commend the other children who showed tremendous consideration for the y6's and ensuring they contributed to establishing an peaceful environment, conducive to the children being able to concentrate and have no distractions. It was certainly a week to be proud of!
As we head toward our May half term holiday, we have some exciting projects for all the children to be involved in as well as beginning our preparations for a number of Summer 2 term events!
Attendance
Consistency is the heartbeat of our thriving school community, and regular attendance is the single most important factor in ensuring your child feels confident, connected, and ready to learn.
Every day in the classroom is a chance to spark a new interest and build lasting friendships—thank you for your continued support in making every school day count!
This week's attendance:
School overall: 92.2%
FS1: 87.3% Year 3: 89.7%
FS2: 90.4% Year 4: 84.8%
Year 1: 96.6% Year 5: 88.2%
Year 2: 95.2% Year 6: 96.1%
Well done to all our 'green' classes whose overall attendance has improved from last week. Congratulations to Year 1, who will get to roll the monopoly dice this week!
Congratulations to all those children who managed to attend every day last week as we've maintained our 73% who achieved 100% attendance. As per this week's challenge, we will be really pleased to give all these children their 5 raffled tickets!
With hayfever season and a few viruses circling, please remember that these are not reasons to keep children at home. Children can be sent into school with a cough, cold, sore throat, etc and we'll keep a close eye on them.
When submitting a 'leave of absence request' please could you let Mrs Bulloss know so that we can make sure we get back to you straight away with the outcome.
A reminder that the online form is available on the school website or follow the link below:

A big 'well done' do all our award winners this week! We are very proud of you all!
It was also lovely to share in achievements from home as well as our pupils working really hard to ensure they take pride in their presentation and handwriting with the award of their 'pen licence'.
1st-7th June
Following the success of our pupils and parents First Aid sessions last week, we will be following up by taking part in Child Safety Week this year. In conjunction with this, we will be sharing helpful safety advice each week, which we hope you find useful!
Wearing school uniform fosters a collective sense of belonging by visually uniting our children as one proud community.
Our uniform encourages a sense of pride in their appearance and helps them transition into a focused mindset ready for learning.
We would like you to work with us on this, to ensure all our pupils wear their correct school uniform and PE uniform.
There is also a safety element to our request, as we have noticed some children beginning to wear Crocs (or other 'slip in' shoes) for school. These can become very unsafe when children are funning around!
Please see the link for our full uniform policy on our website and thank you in advance for your support with this:

We are excited to announce that our sculpture, "Roar for Yorkshire" will be located in Meadowhall Shopping Centre from 8th June to 8th September.
There will be physical trail maps available for purchase in venues across the region as well as a digital app for you to collect all the sculptures you find on the trail!
More information can be found on our website closer to the trail going live.
The charity have also just announced that all money raised from this project will be going towards the redevelopment of the Emergency Department at Sheffield Children’s Hospital. You can read the full story on how you are making a difference here: https://prideofyorkshire.org/what-is-the-trail-going-to-fund/
We can’t thank our children and families enough for all the hard work you have put into fundraising and painting our sculpture. We hope you enjoy seeing them all proudly displayed across the region throughout the summer.
South Yorkshire’s Mayor Oliver Coppard has announced his third Walk and Wheel Challenge for all primary schools in the region, in a special collaboration with Living Streets - with even more prizes and bonus challenges.
The Mayor’s Walk and Wheel Challenge 2026 takes place during Living Streets’ national Walk to School Week, between the 18 and 22 May 2026.
We are looking forward to participating in this event next week when we ask that as many of our children as possible walk, wheel or cylcle to school every day next week to become more active and healthier.
The challenge forms part of the Mayor’s key manifesto commitment to make South Yorkshire the best place in the country to walk, wheel and cycle for our children, with an ambitious plan for active travel with schools at its heart.
