Welcome to this week's Round-Up and to the Autumn Term 2026!
Welcome to this week’s newsletter! The school was transformed into a vibrant ‘sea of red’ today as we came together to celebrate Rotherham Day, bringing a brilliant sense of community and energy to the end of the week.
We have been delighted to see the sheer dedication children are bringing to their homework. The sheer volume of completed tasks and the positive attitude pupils have shown toward their home learning has been fantastic to see.
Thank you to all the parents and carers who joined our FS2 children yesterday. It was wonderful to share that classroom time with you, and we hope you enjoyed the session as much as we did.
We love enriching our curriculum with hands-on adventures, and we've recently booked some fantastic new experiences—including KS2 climbing and an upcoming trip to Eden Camp!
A sincere thank you for your ongoing support with home reading. Giving children as many opportunities as possible to read makes an incredible difference to their learning journey. Please continue to support them at home and keep updating their portfolios on ClassDojo so we can celebrate their milestones in school.
Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership and support. Wishing you all a restful weekend!
With Harvest Season upon us, we are excited for our upcoming 'Experience Harvest' visits to the church next week. In the spirit of our half-term focus on generosity, we are collecting non-perishable food items for the church food bank. Any donations to help us support local families would be warmly welcomed!
Thank you in advance.
Attendance
As we begin a new school year and welcome students for another busy term, we want to take this opportunity to highlight the vital role of consistently good attendance at school.
Being in school means your child stays connected with their peers, is engaged in their learning and on track to reach their full potential. The table below shows the impact thatmissing school can have on your child’s education:
This week
We haven't quite reached the dizzy heights of 95+ attendance as we did last week, but we continue to have children who are making a great deal of effort to get to school on time, every day!
The final figures this week are as follows:
FS2: 100% Year1: 94.9% Year 2: 92.2% Year 3: 94.8% Year 4: 92.8% Year 5:98% Year 6: 91.9%
Well done to our 'green' classes for their amazing improvement!
Nominations are now open for the WPT People's Choice Award and we would like you to nominate a member of staff who you feel is deserving of this award!
The WPT Staff Awards is an evening of celebration which recognises the hard work, commitment and dedication that our staff put in every day to ensure the best possible education and outcomes for students.
This year, we once again have a People's Choice Award category and we need your help in deciding the winner!
Has a member of staff gone out of their way to help you, your child, or your community? Does your child's teacher go above and beyond?*
Help us recognise the work our staff do by nominting them for a Staff Award by copying the link below into your address bar, or using the link attached to the 'Round-up' :
Nominations close on Friday 9th October at 8am and the results will be published in December.
Thank you for taking the time to recognise the important work our staff do everyday.
We are aware that a number of our pupils participate in clubs and are part of teams outside of school. We would love the opportunity to celebrate their achievements with them and ask that they bring trophies, medals and certificates into school, or just come and share what they've achieved during our Friday assembly.
We would like to congratulate Joshua for his fantastic football achievement last week and receiving the 'Manager's Player of the Match' award.
This will begin next week and we ask you to join us in promoting our 100 word vocabulary. If we hear the children using these words, see them in their writing or spotting them in their reading books, they will receive Dojos!
Next weeks words are:
KS1: achieve
KS2: alter, assessment, atmosphere
