Ameya-yokocho generally called "Ameyoko" is one of the biggest shopping streets in Tokyo stretched more than 500m long.
The name "Ame" came from, a Japanese word "ame" which means candies as they were sold in this area when Japan was facing a sugar shortage, and a word "America" as commodities from the American occupation army were sold here during the post World War Ⅱ.
