Art Club final project instructions to finish at home OR step by step instructions for anyone who wasn't in art club. Supplies needed are sandpaper, crayons, and a t-shirt, maybe some popsicle sticks. Color your design on the sandpaper, transfer it to cloth, and turn the print block into a wall hanging as well. Your mission should you choose to accept it:

Follow the clues to identify all the mysterious works of art.

You may work as a family. Team work is recommended. There are 20 total questions and you are allowed 4 skips.

Hint: Start with the Kindergarten and 1st grade gallery and move your way through the upper grades.

A request for oil pastel demo, turned animal drawing step by step, and a little olive oil for flavoring...just kidding for blending. Shape Your World Yayoi Kusama Inspired Drawing

Watch Mrs. White's read aloud about the contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama. Yayoi saw the world in a unique way from the time she was a child. Now, she creates her art to reflect the way she sees the world, with all sorts of dots. Think about a shape that might inspire you. Create a drawing (or painting) using that shape repeated over and over again, use different colors, patterns, sizes, be creative and see how you can express what you see in the world using your shape. Home Time Art Challenge #9 Op Art Warping Shape

This week, let's talk about op art. Short for optical art, this type of art uses line, shape, color, and pattern to trick the viewer's eyes. Super fun and you can do this with just about any materials you have have at home, crayon, marker, colored pencil, paint, even just a regular pencil or pen.

Challenge #6:

Home Time Art Challenge #6 Artist's Choice Day all Spring Break Long!

Parents may be asking, what is artist's choice day? Artist's Choice Day is a reward day in our ARPS art studio. Normally on these days, Mrs. White opens up what she calls the "Imagination Station" and artists are allowed free reign of almost all the supplies. The imagination station is stocked with all kinds of fun goodies, some of which are recycled items, scraps of wood, old magazines, pipe cleaners, toliet paper rolls, fun buttons or cut outs, interesting boxes or containers, etc. Students are invited to look at these supplies, not for what they are, but for what they can become. One of the biggest rules in the Imagination Station is that they must completely transform their object into their own art.

To my fellow artists...I need to tell you a secret. The imagination station has been with you all along. Seriously, look around your house, look in the recycling bin, look in the piles of things to be donated, check out some old scraps you have lying around, look all around you, it is all there, your very own Imagination Station. Be inspired! Be sure to ask permission before you start transforming anything into your own art and then get creative! I cannot wait to see what you come up with. Please don't forget to either send me a pic via email or upload your art to Artsonia so we can all enjoy your art! And keep it all coming over spring break!

Tip: Ask an adult to make you an itty bitty amount of tea. Tell them to let the teabag steep in about 2 Tablespoons of water for over an hour. Overnight is even better.

BTW...Shamrock drawing tip. It is basically just three hearts connected at the points with an added stem. Try rotating your paper as you make the hearts to make it easier.

Home Time Art Challenge #2-Draw you favorite pet, stuffed animal, or even just find a picture of an animal from at least two different views or angles (for example: front or side). Don't forget to upload your drawing using Classroom Mode on the Artsonia app. That may mean your parents have to log out as parents and you will log back in as a student. Be sure to email Mrs. White to request the QR code.
