Milan 2016

As the leader of the Model United Nations club during the MUN MILAN conference that we attended this Spring Break, I can proudly say that we had the best MUN team I could possibly have asked for! All of our 14 delegates had their research done and did an excellent job debating. I should mention that we had two fellow students who obtained the “Best Delegate” award for their excellent contribution to the debates and one who received an “Honorable Mention.” MUN is all about creating solutions to solve real life issues affecting the world that we live in, such as illegal migration or violations of human rights in war. During the writing of a resolution the most important delegate (AKA the main submitter) is in charge of the resolution as a whole. Most of our incredible delegates were the main submitters of various resolutions. Given the fact that 65% percent of our MUN team was made up of newbies it just makes me very proud that they were brave enough to be in charge of the debate.

Besides debating we got to visit the Italian city of Milan. We toured the centre of Milan, took pictures at the Duomo, ate so much gelato and had pasta and pizza for every meal! Furthermore this trip would not have been as fun if it hadn't been carried out by our excellent advisors Ms. Franco and Mr. Howard. They never failed to makes us laugh and have a good time. How lucky I am to be the leader of such a prestigious and extraordinary club as the MUN!
