About Our Newsletters

Students and their parents receive a monthly newsletter with information on improving their Social-Emotional Wellbeing, Highlights on their different Advisory Sessions, as well as where they can get access to pertinent topics that are yet to be covered during Advisory.  Much of the content is consolidating the information that they have received during Advisory, as well as touching on other Well-Being aspects of life. 

Every edition of the Newsletter comes with a message to enhance their Social-Emotional Wellbeing, Career Guidance about different careers, a different Study Skill or Time Management Technique with graphic organizers and worksheets that students can download and use, as well as other pertinent topics that assist students with their holistic experience at school.

Newsletter covering the topics of Community Action Projects, College Fair Visit, Diversity Awareness, Backwards Mapping as an effective study strategy and careers in the interdisciplinary field of International Relations

Newsletter focusing on Career Exploration activities with Grade 10s leading up to Career Day. It mainly covered the Career Day itself on February 22, 2022, where a recording of the Keynote speech is published. Students were also able to see a presentation by Europe's Operating Manager at Amazon who shared his life and professional journey. In addition, students and speakers shared their feedback and impressions of Career Day.

Newsletter focusing on our Neurodiversity Celebrations, College visits by College Counselors, using Concept Maps as an effective study strategy, Departmental Course Presentations for G10 moving to G11, Career Guidance in the field of Neuroscience and an excerpt from the “Do You Know Me” Audiobook about an autistic teenage girl in the process of finding her people and, and learning what it takes to be a true friend. 

Newsletter focusing on the roll-out of the Community Action Projects during Advisory as well as MAP testing for Grades 9 and 10.  It also explores Study Skills using the Pomodoro Method and Career Guidance in International Business as well as different guided meditations for students

Newsletter focusing on Grade 11 Class Retreat, Grades 9 and 10 roll-out of their Community Action Projects designed and developed during Advisory as well as the Grade 8 Transition Program where Grade 9 and 10 students served as Big Buddies. In this edition you can also find recommended books to read this summer, as well as get a glimpse of our most recent graduation ceremony.  

Newsletter focusing on the Upper School Grade Level Class Retreats, the Buddy Program as well as the importance of Checking In with oneself. Checking In was shared at the Retreats as a viable tool in managing stress and anxiety as well as the first step in any decision-making process. Three book recommendations are shared and a One-minute hack that anyone can use as part of the checking-in and decision-making process. 

In the Spirit of Thanksgiving, this Newsletter highlights what students are grateful for. It also looks at our Advisory Program across grade levels and shares different ideas students can use for their community and service projects.  Under Study Skills students will find very practical ways they can take full advantage of their hours at school so they can relax more outside of school. In addition they will find very lovely ways their Thanksgiving break can be enjoyed, including participating in a competition for International Women's Day.

Here is our first Newsletter for 2023 featuring some of the many activities that we have done in our Counseling and Advisory program since the beginning of this year.  Some of the many activities are the Grade 10 Personality Assessment, Interest Profile Inventory, and Career Guidance workshops led by Tessa John Guerra and Felím Bolster. 

It includes the Senior Advisory Workshops and Senior Buddy Program organized by Ronan Dempsey and other Advisory activities organized by Grade Level Leaders Ms. Susy Francey, Mr. Terrance Dillon as well as Mr. Cam Ducharme and happily facilitated by all our Upper School Advisors.
