Instead of storing one complete private key in one place, the key gets split into pieces using Shamir's Secret Sharing and those pieces are stored separately across your device, cloud storage and Tomo's secure servers. Not Tomo, not their engineers, not their servers. Nobody ever holds the complete key. Their docs go a step further and mention Trusted Execution Environments, or TEE. In plain English, that means the sensitive key operations happen inside a locked down section of the hardware that nothing else on the device can reach.

That is a completely different approach from wallets like Phantom or Backpack where you are personally responsible for a 12 or 24 word phrase. 6. I went with Google because it was the fastest. You pick whatever you are comfortable with. The wallet builds itself in a few seconds.

• Social account recovery: Lost your laptop? Dropped your phone in a lake? Log into the new device with the same Google or Apple account and your wallet is back. No frantic search for a piece of paper.
