Download Solflare Wallet Extension | Official Website

The Solflare Wallet Extension is the browser version of Solflare's Solana wallet. Once it's installed, you can keep SOL, tokens and NFTs right in your browser, send them, swap them, and log in to Solana apps with a click. Solflare describes it as noncustodial, which simply means your keys stay on your computer and the company can't touch your money.

Most people install a wallet the first time a Solana app asks them to connect one. That's exactly the moment to slow down, because grabbing the wrong download or skipping the backup step is how a lot of beginners lose funds. Below, I'll show you where to get the real extension, how to set it up, and the habits that keep your wallet safe.

You're not stuck on one device with Solflare. There are three ways to open the same wallet:

• Browser extension: Works on Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Edge, Opera and Arc. This is the one you'll use most on a laptop.

• Mobile app: Available for iPhone and Android, with its own browser for opening Solana apps.

• Web app: Runs on solflare.com, so there's nothing to install.

Practical tip: Get the extension from solflare.com/download and nowhere else. Firefox users are sent to Mozilla's extension store, and every other browser goes to the Chrome Web Store.

The main job of the Solana extension is to act as your key for Solana apps. When a DeFi platform, NFT marketplace or game asks you to "Connect Wallet," Solflare extension pops up and shows you what the site wants. You approve or reject it right there. Nothing moves without your signature.

Beyond that, you can send and receive SOL and SPL tokens, view your NFTs, and stake SOL. There's also a swap feature inside the wallet. You'll find the Swap section on the right side of the Portfolio tab, or you can open the Trade tab from the menu on the left.

One thing new users miss is that you need a little SOL in the wallet to pay network fees, even if you only plan to hold other tokens. There are three ways to get it. You can buy SOL inside the wallet through Solflare's payment partners (this depends on your country), send it from an exchange account, or have a friend send some over.

Keep a pen and a sheet of paper next to you. You'll need them in step 5.

1. Open solflare.com/download and click your browser's logo.

2. You'll land on your browser's extension store. Make sure the listing is called "Solflare Wallet," then hit Add to Chrome (the button name changes depending on your browser) and accept the prompt.

3. Chrome hides new extensions by default. Click the puzzle piece icon at the top right and pin Solflare so it stays in your toolbar.

4. Open Solflare. New to it? Pick I need a new wallet. Moving over from another wallet? Pick I already have a wallet and enter your recovery phrase or private key.

5. Reveal your recovery phrase and write it down on paper, in order. Don't screenshot it or save it in a notes app or cloud drive.

6. Confirm the phrase when Solflare asks you to. This proves you backed it up correctly.

7. Set a strong password you don't use anywhere else. This password locks the extension on your computer.

8. Copy your wallet address from the home screen and send in a small amount of SOL as a test before moving anything large.

That's it. Your Solflare wallet extension will now show up whenever a Solana site asks you to connect.

On a phone, Solflare feels almost the same as the extension. The two extras are biometric unlock, so you can open it with your fingerprint or Face ID, and a browser inside the app for opening Solana apps. It's great for quick jobs like checking a balance or staking some SOL when you're away from your desk. You can also import the same recovery phrase so your phone and browser show the same wallet.

1. Open the App Store or Google Play and search "Solflare." Or use the links on solflare.com/download so you know you've got the right app.

2. Install the app and open it.

3. New wallet? Tap Create wallet. Already have one? Pick the import option and type in your recovery phrase.

4. Write down the recovery phrase on paper and confirm it in the app.

5. Choose a password. If your phone has a fingerprint reader or Face ID, switch that on too.

6. Send a little SOL to the wallet for fees. After that, you're ready to send, swap or stake.

If you want a simple way to use Solana from your browser, the Solflare Wallet Extension does the job well. You can connect to apps, swap tokens and stake SOL, with scam checks and approval warnings included, and you can open the same wallet on your phone. None of it takes more than a few minutes to set up.

The part that really deserves your attention is the recovery phrase. Solflare can't reset it for you, and a mistaken transaction can't be pulled back. Stick to official downloads, keep the phrase on paper somewhere safe, read what you're approving, and think about adding a hardware wallet once your balance grows.
