Class overview
The objective of the Basic AutoCAD course is to equip students with foundational skills and knowledge to effectively utilize AutoCAD software for creating, editing, and managing 2D and 3D drawings. By the end of the course, students will be able to:
Understand the Interface: Familiarize themselves with the AutoCAD workspace, tools, and commands to navigate the software efficiently.
Create and Modify Drawings: Develop the ability to produce precise 2D drawings using basic drawing tools, including lines, arcs, circles, and polygons, as well as editing tools such as trim, extend, and offset.
Utilize Layers and Properties: Learn to organize drawings using layers, manage object properties, and apply appropriate line types and colors for better visual representation.
Implement Dimensioning and Annotation: Gain skills in adding dimensions, text, and annotations to drawings for clear communication of design intent.
Explore Basic 3D Modeling: Introduce basic 3D modeling concepts and techniques, allowing participants to create simple 3D shapes and understand the transition from 2D to 3D.
Prepare and Print Drawings: Understand the process of setting up layouts, creating viewports, and preparing drawings for printing with appropriate scaling and paper size.
Enhance Productivity: Discover shortcuts and best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy in drawing production.
This course aims to provide a solid foundation in AutoCAD, enabling participants to pursue further studies or careers in fields such as architecture, engineering, and design.
