Whether using a 360 camera or an app to create the 360 photo, the photo will be available to access on your camera photo roll.

Uploading and Hosting Your 360 Image

There are multiple options for uploading and hosting 360 images. Each option has positives and negatives. See below.

Positives

  • Easy process (steps in slide below)
  • Images easily shared via URL link

Negatives

  • Images best viewed on computer or chromebook (Goggle or Single Pane Mode functionality on mobile device doesn't work)
  • Image is not geo-tagged
  • Just an image, cannot add audio
Google Photos as a 360 Image Host

Positives

  • Easy process (steps in slide below)
  • Images easily shared via URL link, embed code, or QR Code
  • Accessible across device types
  • User can switch between Goggle and Single Pane Modes

Negatives

  • Image is not geo-tagged
  • Just an image, cannot add audio
Cardboard VR Photo Sphere Viewer as a 360 Image Host

Positives

  • Images easily shared via URL link or Embed code
  • Image is searchable via location (via Google Maps or Street View)
  • Accessible across device types

  • Just an image, cannot add audio

Positives

  • Images easily shared via URL link
  • Accessible across device types

  • Audio is included with image as a hotspot or in the background
  • Can connect multiple spheres together

Negatives

  • You must include audio to use Story Spheres.
  • Image is not geo-tagged
  • Must be to 18 to create content on Story Spheres
Story Spheres as a 360 Image Host

Positives

  • Easy process
  • Photos are uploaded directly into VR Tour.
  • Tour easily shared via URL link
  • Accessible across device types
  • Views dependent on device (Goggle mode with viewers, full screen on computer or mobile)
  • Audio can be included with image as narration or in the background
  • Images, text, and additional audio can be added on top of the uploaded 360 image.
  • Can connect multiple 360 photos together

Hosting Multiple 360 Images and Content
