What is Flipgrid?
Free video discussion/response/screencast tool
Convenient format for students to record video responses to tasks or prompts; teachers can respond via video or textual comment
Ease of Use?
Easy Moderate Challenging
Tips for use:
TURN MODERATION FEATURE ON when you create a topic so that you see all video responses before they're shared with the class
Use DISCOVER tab in Flipgrid to get get ideas and use/revise topics created by other contributors that you can use with your students
Can use for SEL (Social Emotional Learning) exercises
It's a way to hear from all your students individually and quickly to get feedback on their thinking. Think PROGRESS CHECK, EXIT TICKET or STUDENT REFLECTION
Students who want only their audio to be shared can use a filter to "blur" their image
Remember privacy guidelines when sharing student responses; for some responses, like feedback, you may want to keep the conversation on an individual level instead of opening/sharing responses for all students to view.
