5 Beginning Band

After participating in various activities to assess skill and interest, students choose the instrument best suited for them and spend the year learning to play that instrument. Participation in the ensemble helps students to continue to build upon the knowledge already acquired in grades Pre-K-4 about the elements of music. In addition, students begin to develop an appreciation of all aspects of instrumental music. Participation in band fulfills students’ middle school music requirement.

5 Beginning Choir

Students will continue to build upon the knowledge already acquired about the elements of music by learning how to use their singing voice. In addition, students begin to develop an appreciation of all aspects of vocal music. Participation in choir fulfills students' middle school music requirement.
