NC.M3.G-GMD.4 Identify the shapes of two-dimensional cross-sections of three-dimensional objects, and identify three-dimensional objects generated by rotations of two-dimensional objects.
NC.M3.G-MG.1 Apply geometric concepts in modeling situations • Use geometric and algebraic concepts to solve problems in modeling situations: • Use geometric shapes, their measures, and their properties, to model real-life objects. • Use geometric formulas and algebraic functions to model relationships. • Apply concepts of density based on area and volume. • Apply geometric concepts to solve design and optimization problems.
Students will also take what they've learned and make applications to other connected standards.

Entry Event/Kick-off:
11/13/2020 Zoom meeting with students to discuss process of designing and building a footbridge with focus on making sure the final project is safe and accessible to all students who may want to enjoy our space.
Checkpoints and Formative Assessments:
11/17 and 11/19 Meet with Ashe County Chief Building Inspector Jeff Cornett to discuss project, ADA specifications and things to consider while designing project.
11/20 Th-F students meet with local builder, Josh Scott to discuss plans and building ideas for bridge, will video and post for M-T students and virtual students as well.
11/20 Th-F students conference w/me during class regarding progress, 11/23 M-T students conference w/Ashley during class regarding progress
11/30 Scale drawing of bridge and Project estimates on building costs due.
Prior to 11/30, students will have one peer review of their work for suggestions or ideas. Students will complete a google form to detail their reviews of scale drawing and material budget list.
12/1(M-T) and 12/4(Th-F) students will share pics of their models w/Ashley for suggestions before turn in date.
Prior to 12/7 students will have one peer review their model suggestions
12/7 3-D Models turned in.
