Submit Hours
During the high school years, students are required to complete 100 hours of community service as part of the service learning graduation requirement. Students have an extensive variety of projects to choose from found on the Organizations page of this site.
Types of Service Hours
A Hours
“A" hours can be described as opportunities off campus. For example, helping the community by volunteering with an environmental institution, helping at a local hospital, visiting an orphanage, etc.
B Hours
"B" hours are usually earned by helping our ASFG community in some way. For example, students could help collect trash, promote a green school to their friends, assist teachers or administrators, organize events, etc.

Documentation Option 1
Take pictures and videos and upload them to your service learning website. The pictures and videos should help tell the story of your experience and make it very clear to your audience the extent of your participation. Your pictures and videos must show multiple days if you participated for more than one day.
Documentation Option 2
Ask your organization for a signed letterhead that describes your performance and includes the total number of hours you spent volunteering. You can use this example service learning letter as a reference.

TECHO Hours

Overnight Experiences
Students can earn additional hours for service trips that require an overnight stay. While evening hours might not be spent working, we recognize this time still dedicated to the overall experience. Students should add 3 hours for each night (this does not apply to WWW).
