Languages

In today’s world of hyper-connectivity, global markets and cultural diversity, our ability to communicate effectively with those outside our immediate geographic bubbles is more important than ever. I believe there is no better way to succeed in this environment than to speak the language of those with whom we collaborate. Increasingly, bilingualism is an absolute minimum, and learning and mastering a third or even fourth language is common among the most effective global citizens. Aside from gaining a competitive advantage, let’s not forget how fun, intriguing and satisfying it is to learn a new language! It keeps our minds flexible and engaged. It keeps us humble yet brings us a deep sense of accomplishment. We relish the immense feeling of connection that comes with our ability to confidently say to our friends from different cultures and backgrounds, I really enjoyed talking with you.

Why study another language?

Plurilingualism has proved to have many advantages:

  • Bilingual people have a greater attention span, bilingual and multilingual minds are more effective, flexible, and creative.

  • Economic studies show that the value of speaking a second language is about that of $ 128,000 USD.

  • Plurilingual minds show greater understanding, therefore, they are more tolerant to foreign cultures.

  • If you want to study or work in another country, you need another language.

  • If you want to do business with foreign companies, you will surely need another language.
