Dr. Xie earned his PhD from North China Electric Power University and Tianjin University, previously serving as co-Dean of the Department of Power Engineering at North China Electric Power University where he mentored over 90 postgraduate students in thermal physics, energy systems, and applied engineering. He has authored more than 100 publications and obtained over 100 patents. Following his academic career, Dr. Xie was a visiting scholar at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and as Principal Test & Development Engineer at Sanhua Automotive developing new mobile HVAC systems, and he now serves on steering committees for both SAE and AHRI. Dr. Xie will apply his expertise to train students in advanced energy systems and thermal physics science.
