Welcome to the Subramaniam Group at ASDRP!

We are a dynamic group of aspiring data scientists who know the power of data for empowering solutions to real world questions. 

The projects we do, focuses on solving problems and answering questions in our day to day lives.  The data we use are mostly publicly available and we try to find patterns and build predictive models using machine learning.

The categories that we have done projects are:

Using tabular structured data to take decisions (predict crime rates, asses quality of life, detect diseaese from medical and IoT data)

Using images and deep computer vision to do medical diagnosis from MRIs, CT Scans and Ultra Sound images.

Identify sentiment and patterns in text using deep learning like detecting fake reviews, spams

Using Generative AI to process text and provide solutions like building summaries of documents, advanced search using RAG

Starting 2025, the areas I will be focusing are

Generative AI applications in real life

Agentic AI use cases and architecture

Prompt engineering and augmenting prompts / RAG

Reasoning ability of LLMs

Fine tuning LLM

If you have a data idea which you want to explore or a problem you want to solve using machine learning, you are welcome to present it to me.  

Although some Python knowledge is good to have, the primary requirement to be successful in this group is a willingness to spend time and effort in learning and working independently and as a team, and completing the assigned project on time.
