Principle Investigator
Joseph Pazzi, PhD
E-mail: joey.pazzi@asdrp.org
Education:
PhD, Bioengineering University of California, Merced
BS, Biomedical engineering University of California, Irvine
Biography:
Prior to joining the faculty at ASDRP, Dr. Pazzi received his PhD in Bioengineering from the University of California, Merced, where he developed novel techniques for preparing, studying, and quantifying the dynamics of giant unilamellar vesicles (GUVs), and has authored numerous publications in the interface of membrane engineering, biomedical assay development, and biophysical characterization of macromolecular structures. The Pazzi laboratory extends this expertise into the applications of synthetic biomembranes for drug delivery, RNA delivery, membrane fusion, and synthetic cell engineering prospects.
