Welcome to music at Bowman Elementary School!

At Bowman our goal is to for students to appreciate and find a love for music. Music classes are an environment for creativity, exploration, movement, community building, and music making. Students are working towards gaining music reading and ensemble skills that can be used outside of an elemetary school music classroom. Music provides students the opportunity to express themselves through movement, speech, and play. In our classroom at Bowman, an Orff-Schulwerk approach is used for teaching children. Through an Orff approach students learn music through what they instinctively do: play, imitation, experimentation, and personal expression.
