This year both the Varsity and JV teams are going to the state playoffs for Super Smash Brothers. This makes the 4th year in a row that West Anchorage has qualified and the 3rd year that both teams are going.
This year marks a first for our school as we have a female Esports Athlete on our Varsity state team. She is only the second female Esports athlete from WAHS.
Each team of 3 players competes in Best of 5 sets.
*Currently all games are played on the Nintendo Switch.
*Not all games may be available based on number of students.

West Anchorage competed in the Nationals for Super Smash Brothers but was edged out 3-2. We ended up ranked #8.
ASD/ASAA have currently approved Esports as a Spring season sport that competes for the state title. Students can sign up all school year before the season begins.
Pre-season starts in late January and the regular season ends in April. State championships usually take place the end of April.
PlayVs Cup (Nationals) starts in Mid-May and runs through the first week of June.
Thank you to Esports Gear for their help in hosting an Esports/West store! You can check out the designs by clicking above.
