Events and How You Can Prepare

Round 1 - The Gauntlet - March 20, 2026
- All 4-5 graders will participate
Round 2 - Circle of Doom - March 27, 2026
- 25 Winners of the Gauntlet will participate in a "speed networking" circle
Round 3 - Lunch of Champions - April 2, 2026
- Four Round 2 winners will have lunch with community leaders. Only one will be this year's Amazing Shake Champion.

What You Can Do To Prepare

Practice in class: make good eye contact, practice answering questions in class and project your voice.
Practice the Fur Rendezvous commercial script (attached HERE) with clear voices, expression, and enthusiasm.
Learn a little about the history of Fur Rondy—what it celebrates and why it’s important to Alaska. Watch THIS video (featuring Mr. Pugh!)
Practice introductions and handshakes, including greeting an adult and starting a conversation.
Help students identify their skills and personal strengths, and practice asking thoughtful follow-up questions
