Mr. Snyder grew up in Anchorage and took swim lessons at East High in the 1970s. Then he went to school there in the 1980's, started coaching runners and skiers there in 1994, and started teaching at East High in 1999. Basically he has not gotten very far in life, but he has visited 34 countries.  In between he earned a BA in Biology at University of Colorado, an MS in Biological Sciences at UAA, got married, earned an MAT in Education at UAA, and had a few kids. 

Mr. Snyder loves to play in the outdoors: skiing, running, hiking, biking, boating, orienteering, exploring, swimming, and climbing on ice bergs.
