Battle of the Books is a reading competition in which teams compete to correctly answer questions about the twelve books from the official list. We invite anyone interested to participate in our weekly practices and then give a test to all participants in December. The top eight scorers get a spot on one of the Scenic Park Battle of the Books teams. There is a 3rd and 4th-grade team and a 5th-grade team. This is a great way for students to find new authors and genres they enjoy and improve their collaboration skills.
Scenic Park Battle of the Books Practices will be held on Monday afternoons from 2:35 - 3:15 beginning September 16th. The practice schedule is linked here.
5th Graders practice with Ms. Brandt in the library.
3rd and 4th Graders practice with Ms. Mott in her classroom, room 178.
The team test will be given during the December 2nd practice. Students will then be notified if they made the team; from then on, only 8 team members will attend practice.
We will hold a Pizza Party in March to celebrate all participants' hard work.
Scenic Park's 3rd / 4th Grade Coach is Mrs. Mott
Ms. Brandt is coaching the 5th Graders
