Message from your Principal:
Dear Hanshew Families,
Thank you so much for an amazing 3rd quarter! Our students showed huge academic growth both in class and on the MAP Growth Assessment. Please ask your student to show you their data as they have been tracking it from the Fall-Winter. In addition, Hanshew was recognied for our attendance growth and improvement by the district PBIS Attendance Team. Our parents were treated to hot coffee in the drop off line in the front of the school, the staff was treated to lunch by Texas Roadhouse and IBEW, and the students were treated to a fun assembly with the UAA volleyball and boys basketball teams.
Now that we have made it to March, we will continue the excellence into the 4th and final quarter of the school year. Please continue to check your student's academic progress in canvas and Q. Afterschool tutoring has started and is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the library from 4:15-5:15pm. The writing lab is open on Wednesdays and Fridays in the library from 4:15-5:15pm.
March is Women'sHistory Month and Irish American and Greek American heritage months. We will be celebrating the many accomplishments of women in American, along with the contributions from Irish and Greek Americans. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to be a guest speaker or have anything to contribute to this celebration.
March 9-13, 2026 is Spring Break and the end of the 3rd quarter. Students will not have any assignments or projects during that week. Teachers will post grades and be viewable on Parent Connect in Q on Tuesday, March 17th. please contact your student's team for a meeting or questions/concerns.
