Gear/equipment--BHS will check out the following gear to skiers who are registered and participating in Cross Country Skiing:
-One pair of combi boots, two pairs of poles, one pair of skate skis, one pair of classic skis, a racing uniform and a BHS ski jacket
Great things to have: a wrist watch with stop watch, running shoes, a wind breaker (light weight) and a warm coat, long sleeve polyester shirts, and ski/polyester pants. If you're on a tight budget we do have some team gear that skiers can use for the season.
Race Day: Race days can be cold especially since we are there for about an hour before the first race starts and then for up to two hours after the first race. On race day, please bring: A bag or backpack that can close. Race outfit and BHS ski jacket, down/fleece jacket, long sleeve shirt, long underwear/tights, warm socks, gloves, and a hat/headband. Also bring a dry shirt and socks for after the race. Full water bottle and snack or lunch (low sugar!).
The rule is racers need to be easily identifiable to officials, so extra gear can be worn as long as team uniform is still easily recognizable.
