Noodle Tools - All ASD students have access to NoodleTools, a research organizational tool that stores their sources and formats their bibliographies.  It also has note taking and outline features.  MLA, APA, and Chicago/Turabian formats are available.

Gale in Context - Exceptional research database tool. Search results include reference books, biographies, primary sources, video and audio clips, images, critical essays, news, academic journals and more.

Explora -  An interface designed for grades 6-12 and search results filtered for a middle and high school audience.

Biography Reference Center  - Thousands of reliable full-text biographies, including the complete full text of Biography Today and Biography, plus narrative biographies not available in other databases. In addition to keyword search, users can locate biographies by subject occupation, nationality, activity, gender, lifespan and more.

State of Alaska's Division of Resource and Community Affairs  - The go-to place for information about Alaskan communities.

History Reference Center  - A full-text database featuring historical reference books, magazines, journals and thousands of primary source documents

Points of View Reference Center  - Rich content that can help students assess and develop persuasive arguments and essays, better understand controversial issues and develop analytical thinking skills.

Science Reference Center  - full text for hundreds of science magazines, journals, encyclopedias, reference books and a vast collection of images.

Digital Public Library of America  - Photographs, books, maps, news footage, oral histories, personal letters, museum objects, artwork, government documents--shared by America’s libraries, archives, museums, and other cultural heritage institutions--all free and immediately available in digital format. Of note: many primary source sets are available on this website. Includes free access to banned books!

NewsBank -Search current and archived coverage of issues, events, people, government, sports and more with the largest collection of full text U.S. newspapers. Includes several Alaska newspapers.

This tool is available through the Anchorage Public Library, and for most ASD students your 14 digit library ID doubles as a public library card number. Directions for how to access your library card number in Q here. The PIN is the last four digits.

The Teen Underground  - A refuge for teens 12-18, acting as a safe place to work on homework, attend teen programs, utilize Chromebooks , access free Wi-fi, use board games, read, and socialize with friends in a safe environment. Teens from all over Anchorage utilize the space and benefit from its existence.

World Book Online  - Online research tools that includes encyclopedia articles, primary source collections, educator tools, student activities, educational games, pictures, audio, and video, complemented by current periodicals and related web sites. ASD pays for a subscription. Access via Clever.
