Symbolic Animal: Elephant
Hand Signal: 2 hands coming to form a heart
House Motto: There is no small act of kindness
House Color: Yellow
Compassion is like a herd of elephants, where caring for and supporting each other comes above all else. The house’s symbolic animal, the elephant, demonstrates that even when the going gets rough, when you are surrounded by your people, you can overcome any obstacle. When students enter compassion, they discover who they really are. The encouragement is for each student to find his or her own passions and discover their brilliance. While students may enter timidly, they learn to become brave as they build compassionate and meaningful friendships to find their authentic selves. Compassion is a house that knows when to lean on their friends and when to be the supporting pillar for others.
“Compassion and tolerance are not a sign of weakness, but a sign of strength.”
-Dalai Lama
