Benvenuta! (Welcome in Italian),
I have been a part of ANCCS since the beginning and LOVE our school, families, students, staff, and cultural spirit! I am from Italian heritage and love learning about people, culture, and how we are all connected as human beings.
I have high expectations for my students and welcome suggestions, questions, and the challenging struggle that comes with learning math.
I am blessed to have my grandchildren attend ANCCS and am starting to get kids of students whom I taught years ago in Southwest Region School District. This is my 22nd year teaching and I am very passionate about helping students discover their strengths and identity.
Ciao Amici! - (Till later my friends)
MOVING WITH INTERACTIVE MATH
The use of whiteboards, design materials, and movement are utilized in my middle school math classes. Students use a workshop model where they interact with each other using manipulatives and engage in discourse to share and model strategies. Our class would benefit from large mobile whiteboards for working in groups and demonstrating their thinking. Middle school math uses a lot of graphing and creating colorful math art through geographic design. Graph paper, markers, and colored pencils are used and depleted throughout the year.
