Welcome to 8th Grade Science!

Welcome! My name is Ann Taylor. I am so excited to be teaching science at Honea Path Middle School this year! I have lived in the Honea Path/Belton area for thirteen years now. I received my B.S. degree in Chemistry from Lenoir-Rhyne University , and my Masters in Education from Clemson University. I taught at Riverside Middle School in Pendleton for seven years before coming to Honea Path Middle.

During this course , my students will be using technological design and scientific inquiry, process skills, mathematical thinking, and problem solving. Students will be learning about the characteristics, structure, and motions of celestial bodies; the materials that determine the structure of the Earth and the processes that have altered this structure; Earth's biological diversity over time; the properties and behaviors of waves; and the effects of forces on the motion of an object. We will be using the South Carolina State Standards for 8th grade Science as our curriculum guide.
