Dr. Christine Booth
Cleveland Clinic
Dr. Christine Booth is a Professor of Pathology at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University and Director of Regional Cytology at the Cleveland Clinic. She completed her residency training at the Cleveland Clinic and a cytopathology fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital.
A national leader in cytopathology education and quality standards, Dr. Booth has served in multiple leadership roles within the College of American Pathologists and is currently President of the American Society of Cytopathology. She also represents CAP on the American Cancer Society’s Primary HPV Screening Committee, focusing on excellence in primary HPV testing.
Dr. Yu is an Anatomic Pathologist with special interest in Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology and Cytopathology. He is passionate about diagnostic pathology and enjoys sharing his knowledge with trainees. In addition to his clinical practice, he contributes to cytologist education as Executive Advisor for the Cytotechnology Program in the School of Health Professions, leads initiatives as Division Representative for Houston Area Locations (HALs), and serves as Medical Director of Cytopathology at West Houston Diagnostic Imaging Laboratory. His research focuses on the clinical utility of mass spectrometry imaging, as well as morphologic, immunohistochemical, and molecular studies of bone and soft tissue tumors.
Magee-Womens Hospital Pathology, University of Pittsburgh
Dr. Lakshmi Harinath is an Assistant Professor and Associate Director of Gynecologic Cytology, as well as the Associate Director of Breast and Gynecologic Clinical Instructorship in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. She is board certified in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology and Cytopathology, and participates in subspeciality sign out at UPMC Magee Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Dr. Harinath's previous work in EU-funded smart health and wellbeing projects within the Department of Medical Informatics and Clinical Epidemiology at Oregon Health and Sciences University has equipped her with the expertise to lead groundbreaking research projects at UPMC. Her focus is on all dimensions of digitalization and integration of AI-assisted technology in clinical pathology practice.
Recently, Dr. Harinath has authored several innovative and novel peer-reviewed publications in this field. Additionally, she serves as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Pennsylvania Association of Pathology, is a member of the American Society of Cytopathology e-Journal Committee, and is an executive board member of the Association of Indian Pathologists in North America. She also serves as a reviewer for multiple reputed journals.
Indiana University School of Medicine
Josh Howell is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, IN, and the Education Coordinator for the Cytotechnology Program. He has previous clinical experience at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, IN; LabCorp in San Diego, CA: and Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Josh earned his Bachelor of Science in Cytotechnology from Indiana University and his Master of Arts in Organization Leadership from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. He is the current President of ASCT, Chair of the C.E.L.L. Subcommittee and a consultant for ASCT Services, Inc.
Daemen University | Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center
Donna K. Russell is the program director of the MS in Cytology at Daemen University/Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. She is also the Education Coordinator of the Residency/Fellowship training program at UR Medicine.
University of Wisconsin-Madison | Albany College Pharmacy and Health Sciences
Michele is the graduate program manager for the MS in Biotechnology program at University of Wisconsin-Madison and is an adjunct instructor for the MS in Cytotechnology and Molecular Cytology program at Albany College Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
Michele gives back to her communities by supporting and volunteering her services. She serves on the steering committee and as chair of the Mentoring Program for Women in BioHealth Wisconsin. She has served as a leader for local and national professional societies including Wisconsin Cytology Society (scholarship chair, and past president), American Society for Cytotechnology (past president and multiple committee chair), American Society for Clinical Pathology (CPRC representative, nomenclature task force, and past scholarship committee chair), and the American Society of Cytopathology (diagnostic seminar panel, CPRC Vice-Chair, C.E.L.L., and past executive board, scientific program committee). For the last four years, Michele has served as a judge for Wisconsin HOSA.
UT MD Anderson Cancer Center
Katie Jervis is deeply invested in public health, equitable health care for underserved populations, and sharing her knowledge of Cytology with future generations. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor and Associate Program Director for the Cytotechnology Program for the School of Health Professions at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Prior to moving into academia, Dr. Jervis enjoyed a long career in the Anatomic Pathology Laboratory serving in variety of roles, including Director of Laboratory Services. Dr. Jervis earned her DrPH in Epidemiology from Capella University in Minneapolis, MN. She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health and Bachelor’s Degrees in Cytotechnology and Biology.
