ABOUT Mr. Rump

Mr. Alex Rump was born in San Diego, California and grew up in the Lake Tahoe area of Northern California. He graduated from Cal Poly where he met his wonderful wife Aimee. Alex and Aimee have two sons, Huxley and Easton, who they love to take on incredible adventures and explore everything that the outdoors has to offer. With a degree in Kinesiology and a love for all sports and activities Mr. Rump began his teaching career at the middle and high school level and has been the upper school physical education teacher at Ascent for the past 3 years. He is excited to begin another school year and continue to develop an athletics program that provides opportunities for all students to enjoy the competitive arena while building character and challenging themselves to make personal growth in their own lives. 

EDUCATION PHILOSOPHY

I love classical education because it encourages students to pursue the why and how of what they learn in addition to what. Classical education helps develop young people who own their power to enrich their lives and the lives of others. I believe that classical education led by virtues ultimately allows students to be well prepared as members of our society.
