The Very Hungry Caterpillar- by A Cosmic Kids Yoga Adventure! (Yoga and a story adventure).
7. Move on paper plates(in bare feet).
- Have children get down on all fours and “skate” with a plate under each hand.
- Put the plates far apart for big steps.
- Put the plates around your house close together for tiny steps.
8. Learn with a ball toss(categories).
- You give your child a category(like colors) and as they toss the ball back to you, they have to say a color. Ideas for different categories: colors, numbers, favorite food, holidays.
9. Roll and Move.
- Get a die from a board game and have one person roll the die. Whatever number it lands on, the die tells you how many times to do an exercise( ex: touch your toes, do arm circles, run across the room, hop on one foot, jump forward, take big steps, take tiny steps)
10. Dance Like This!
- Put on some music but give your child instructions to dance a particular way. They can dance slow, fast, in a circle, silly, etc.
11. Jump rope( great for balance and coordination).
12. Twister( play this fun board game with your family to get wiggles out, color recognition, and practice using left/right sides of the body)

3. Take a nature walk.
4. Make an indoor obstacle course: build one together using sofa cushions, hula hoops(to jump in and out of), chairs lined up to form a tunnel or balance beam, etc.
5. Play tag or chase: for variety, hop, waddle, or dance instead of running.
6. Catch or kickball: experiment with balls of different sizes and textures.
7. Toss bean bags into baskets: or use balled up socks, small stuffed animals and laundry baskets to get kids to toss into the “targets”.
8. Play “find and tag it”: find and tag something blue. Find and tag something that starts with “S”.
9. Dig in the dirt or sand: get a shovel, pail, construction vehicles, and have kids fill the pail, dig with the shovel, and use the diggers/dozers to move the dirt.
10. Swimming or other water play, such as running in a sprinkler or washing the car.
Big hugs!
