If you are curious about the plays of Shakespeare, but a little shy to read them all on your own, you are in luck! We have a little group that explores Shakspeare’s plays through reading and discussion, every Thursday morning Read-Aloud at 2:00

Purpose and activities:
Raise awareness about animal needs, animal welfare, etc
Career exploration (veterinary, conservation officer, animal protection officer, etc)
Opportunity for like-minded ASCEND students to work together towards a common goal
guest speakers presenting on specific animals and issues facing animal welfare
supply drive (like a food drive) based on each participant's local SPCA's needs
community awareness poster campaigns (eg, adopting from a shelter vs purchasing from a pet store)

meets every second Monday at 4 pm. This program is for Grades 2-5+, depending on the student. Discussions on reducing, reusing, and recycling everyday materials and helping our wonderful Earth sustain itself. It will involve crafting things from old things, assisting with recycling and learning about Endangered BC Wildlife species. contact vcalvert@ascendonline.ca

Students can work with their family (request parent access for students) or with a small group (primary, intermediate and high school) with a teacher as they go through strategies for resilience and mental health that follows a weekly lesson plan. The student can go through it with a parent, or parents can do the caregiver course as well if you are struggling with issues. Pilgrim's Quest -Ideal for Grade 2-5's who want to learn about Saints. This is also the introductory game for those who are keen to join Saint's Quest in the future. For more information email Eben VanRenen- bvanrenen@ascendonline.ca
Saint's Quest- this game is for students Grade 6 and up interested in increasing their spirituality.
Math Quest- Ideal for Grade 2-5's Following the same idea as Saint's quest- but this time you learn about basic math.
Students can play online in teams against other BC School teams in games such as Mario kart, Smash bros, League of Legends, Rocket League and Splatoon. Games are either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday at 4:00 on zoom. Email ksmyth@ascendonline.ca for more information.
