At the Van Tatenhove Center for Counseling (VCFC), we understand the demands of seminary life can be stressful for students and family. Our clinic is designed to assist in many of the concerns students experience while in seminary education. Our student-counselors, staff, and licensed supervisors are trained to work with individuals, couples, children, and families across a wide variety of student needs in both online and in-person formats. These include:
+ Depression and anxiety-based issues
+ Stress management
+ Relationship struggles
+ Grief and loss
+ Marriage/Family struggles
+ Prepare-Enrich assessment
+ Spiritual issues in the context of mental health needs
Student concerns that are beyond the scope of the VCFC can seek a referral to an off-campus professional through the Office of Community Formation.
We work along side the Office of Community Formation to address the needs of students who are currently enrolled at Asbury Seminary. Students in need of formal prayer or spiritual direction can contact the Office of Community Formation located on the first floor of the J.C. McPheeters Building (MC 101) to set up an appointment. Students can call the Office of Community Formations at (859) 858-2391, or email community.formation@asburyseminary.edu to set up an appointment or for more information.
