Hands-on Workshop on Variational Quantum Eigensolver (VQE) and Variational Quantum Algorithms (VQA)
Chair: Mohammad Haidar
Abstract: This workshop introduces participants to the practical implementation of quantum algorithms for quantum chemistry applications, focusing on the Variational Quantum Eigensolver (VQE) and Variational Quantum Algorithms (VQA). Led by Dr. Mohammad Haidar, an active researcher in quantum computational chemistry, the session offers a hands-on experience using OpenVQE and OpenVQA, two open-source software packages developed to bridge theoretical quantum algorithms with real-world problems. Over the course of 2–3 hours, students will gain foundational knowledge and practical skills in applying these algorithms to molecular energy estimation and other chemistry-related tasks. The workshop is designed for participants with a basic understanding of quantum computing and aims to empower them to explore cutting-edge techniques in quantum chemistry and beyond.
Information: For those who join the Hands-on Workshop on VQE and VQA, please visit here for the instructions and information for both Tutorials + exercises. If you have some background, you can start listening to this session.
