Impacts
Our objectives for this summer school proposal are:
1) to attract more participants to our IEEE conferences
2) to extend outreach to undergraduate and master's students through IEEE CIS
3) to provide an educational experience through a fun competition
4) to enhance the visibility and relevance of IEEE CIS to students.
We hope that early engagement with IEEE CIS will lead to these students becoming IEEE CIS members and contributing papers to IEEE CIS conferences as they embark on their academic careers.
The summer school proposal features national and international leading researchers in Computational Intelligence (CI), as well as members and senior members of the IEEE, who will conduct plenary lectures and workshops.
The summer school proposal, along with its associated competition, is expected to draw more attention from scholars worldwide to IEEE CIS conferences and initiate collaborations with companies interested in supporting young scholars.
This expansion aligns with the policies of Japan, Taiwan, and other countries to incorporate computational thinking concepts into fundamental education.
The summer school proposal also showcases collaboration among key pillars within IEEE: the Education Portal Subcommittee of CIS, Member and Geographic Activities (MGA) of R10, and the Educational Activities Board (Section Education Outreach Committee (SEOC)/R10 EAC).
Finally, we aim to promote the growth and successful operations of CIS through this event and encourage participation from both members and non-members. CIS’s co-funding of the summer school will help disseminate this initiative.
