Cities need to adapt to the changing world by improving structures and communities. The goal is to make our local neighborhood sustainable and plain improvements through making a google map. On google My Maps, I made a colorful 2d map with shapes, markers, routes, and labels with images that all represent a variety of improvements, where key ones were recorded and explained with research on a rationale google docs organizer. In the end, my plan was really successful and completed the goal of improving my neighborhood.
I did this project to address local and global problems of cities and areas. It isn't very sustainable in Asuncion, but the government is working on it. This project is to plan improvements in my neighborhood in areas of social and environmental sustainability, along with other advancements.
In the beginning, I made a Google My Maps practice rough draft to get familiarized with how to use it and the functions. I put roads and routes and also made shapes to show the major building improvements, like a community center, park, clinic, and mall. After that minor structures like guard stations and recycling centers were added, together with organized layers on the sidebar menu. In the end images and descriptions were inserted in labels, and I did research on a rationale for the 6 most important improvements.
I found out that a sustainable city would need many clusters of multi-purpose buildings to serve as a "lifestyle area". My prototype would work, but requires lots of money. My results were satisfactory, and I feel like I achieved a sustainable neighborhood.
My results are important because afterwards, I realized that my project would have a chance to take part in the Asuncion Urban Planning. The results provide an opportunity to change Asuncion, and I also learned very much about how urban planning should be carried out.
I could have added more locations for improvements and took pictures of my neighborhood to extend my project. I can take satellite images and put in my improvement rationale. I could also have finished everything first then changed the details.
Thank you to Mr. Tice who supported and helped me!

I was impressed with the vivid and colorful design along with the functionality of the map, and strategies that you suggested to improve the neighborhood. I especially loved the suggestion of a public library in addition to a community meeting area and community garden. A potential exploration would be explaining the strategic reasoning of why certain items were placed in a certain neighborhood. For instance, why is the library and greenhouse on the east side, while the parking garage was on the west side of the neighborhood. Very thorough and well thought out project.
