I realized that halloween props are very lame and boring and wanted to spice it up. I made an Arduino robot that would be used as a halloween decoration to scare children. The Arduino would sense movement with a PIR Sensor and then it would emit a very high pitch sound, LED lights, and moving parts that would emulate a person.
I did this project for my Engineering + Robotics class, but also to learn how to use Arduino and all the components that come with it. I wasn't really trying to answer any questions, just wanted to learn how to do it.
I created the Arduino in Tinkercad and used some of the videos and lessons that they have available in order to have a grasp on how to do certain things. I kind of had a model in my head but nothing in paper.
I successfully created my halloween decoration that would scare children. Whenever someone comes into range of the sensor it would emit a high pitch sound, LED lights will light up with different colors, and moving robot parts will start moving.
I believe my project is important because we need to have some fun during these hard times. If scared little children will make someone laugh or smile I have succeded. I learned that Arduino, although somewhat complicated, is a very cool way to make robots.
I could extend my project by adding a 3D design and implementing the Arduino in the actual design because what I have created is only the code. I could make a very scary person and combine it with the Arduino for maximum scaring effect.

My Engineering + Robotics classmates have also helped me during this process by giving me feedback on my project.
Boo! I am ready for Halloween. What a creative way of using Arduino mircrocontrollers. Your robot will stay all night long without getting tired and repeating this task. I am sure people will get scared specially with a creepy sound. You can provably continue adding pieces and incorporate proximity sensors for more movements. Thanks for such an original project!
