I created a digital painting using Krita to improve on my digital drawing skills as well as expand my knowledge on how to incorporate different tools on art. I explored with different digital tools to create my painting and learned a lot of different ways I can create different types of paintings.
I made this project to improve my digital drawing skills. Digital drawing differs from traditional art because you need different tools to actually create something that would've been done easily in traditional art.
I created my project through Krita, a free digital drawing app. This app has many tools that many paying app have, so it's a great option to have it when you're first starting digital drawing.
I found out that digital art is and feels very different from traditional art. Digital art has a variety of tools that could be used while traditional art is more straightforward in what to do to create an art work. However, digital art has also its advantages such as redoing errors and layering.
My results are very important because through my first digital painting, I was able to learn a variety of tools. This was a goal I wanted to do from way before, but I got the courage now to do it. Trying new things are at first overwhelming for me, however once I get the hang of it, I enjoy it. So trying out digital art was a great step to understand more about it and it would be the initial of my digital art skills.
What I would do next would be another digital painting that is different from this one so that I can expand my digital art skills in other ways. Maybe next time I could draw a human, because drawing humans is difficult for me. So if I start drawing more anatomy, then I would get better at it next time, right? :D
I used reference photos for my official first digital drawing. The moon was from Nikos23 landscape drawing and the clouds and color palette was from 杉87 @k_su_keke1121 from twitter.
I would also like to thank Mr. Shelden for allowing me for this chance in developing my digital art skills and tool handling :D
This is an impressive effort utilizing the medium of Krita as a digital canvas. Your bold brush strokes, dark choice of colors lends itself to a certain ambience and mood. The moon is especially captivating in this piece. What more could you have added to the foreground to better distinguish the dimensions of this piece?
