I was trying to make the top of the stadium to make it indoor and outdoor.I could not figure it out so I just left it without a roof.
I did this project because I pretty much am a fan of the NBA, so I decided to redesign the Warriors basketball court.I was trying to solve an outdoor basketball court, every NBA's court are indoor, so why not make it indoor and outdoor.
I created this project by using tinkercad, used a structure of a soccer stadium I found, and took out some things to make it unique. So instead of having a gigantic roof that covers everything I just took it out, I wanted to do a sliding roof but I dont think is is possible.
It went pretty good, trying to figure out how to change some colors of certain things and it went pretty good. After doing that I added my court and the basketball net separately because they were different colors and attached it to the stadium.
I learned that some simple things may look simple but they are completely the opposite. Learned how to attach everything in one big piece and also erase some of the structure.
I would have done differently is come up with something to make a sliding roof at the top as I said but it is complicated. Maybe I will try to put some type of cover that is transparent.
I got this idea when I was watching a Golden State Warriors game. I was thinking of remodeling their stadium, would make a change to make it unique and also different from others team.
I loved the oval shaped-design of the building, and how center court is truly the center. Many arenas have to think of various events, so one night is a basketball game and the next night is ice hockey then the next night is the circus. The design of a basketball-only arena would make for a perfect basketball experience. (If interested, further exploration would be researching the New York Islanders ice hockey team moving to the Barclay's Arena in Brooklyn. It was designed for basketball with the Nets, then half of the upper deck couldn't see the nets for ice hockey. The Islanders left after 3 years after signing a 25-year contract and building a new arena in Queens, NYC.) The mezzanine was also exciting, as the sound waves would bounce off of it on a Steph Curry 3 and would truly be a home-court advantage. A neat exploration would be seeing the sight lines from each seat, or building the roof. Is it flat? Is it rounded? Being in Oakland, could it withstand an earthquake? Overall, this looks like a very fun place to see a game.
