EXCELLENCE IN MATHEMATICAL CREATIVITY

PROJECT SUMMARY

When an astronaut finds aliens he finds out that they can't count past 2. After 2 they say many. He tries to teach them about numbers and succeeds. He teaches them about negative numbers, natural numbers, rational numbers, and whole numbers.

WHY?

If we ever meet aliens that can't count, we can teach them. This can explain numbers to them easily.

HOW?

I researched numbers. Then I wrote it as a script.

WHAT?

I learned that there are 4 different types of numbers. I also learned more about negative numbers.

SO WHAT?

Having different types of numbers is important to measure different things. Also it is important to have different types of numbers to keep things organized.

WHAT'S NEXT?

I would explain the numbers in more depth. I would also use more examples.

What an interesting idea. It is really hard to figure out how to explain something to someone else and I like this idea of a script. Maybe you could actually film it next year! How would you show negative numbers on a video?
