EXCELLENCE IN SUSTAINABLE ENGINEERING

PROJECT SUMMARY

Why go sustainable? For the Ivy League project I chose architecture as the career to base my work on, specifically sustainable architecture. I made a more sustainable and more modern version of the school to portray the information learned about the topic and how it could benefit the community along with an explanatory presentation.

WHY?

What can architecture do for us?

I chose to make a school model based on my research which involves more modern and a more sustainable design. I chose to make a model to show what the impacts of sustainable architecture can produce and how it could look like. My model is the way I chose to portray my research.

HOW?

For this project I worked on the program sketch up building. I used to use this program at my other school and since I was pretty good at it I chose to use it for this project.

WHAT?

My model shows how can natural resources could be used in a more beneficial way by using more environmental friendly materials, designs and technology. The project not only how resources could be wise fully used but also what impacts does it have.

SO WHAT?

The project shows this new alternative is much more beneficial than the current building system resulting in a positive environmental, social and economic impact. Since sustainable meets the requirements of both the client and the environment.

WHAT'S NEXT?

I still believe my project may have some flaws since the amount of period for this project was not enough to finish my model in the best form.

This project is great because it brings multiple components together; sustainability in combination with architecture that meets its purpose. Although it could be clarified how this building system could result in more positive environmental, social, and economic impacts, the creator clearly has a passion for protecting the environment as we move towards the future.
